First Friday Berea Receives $90K, Multi-Year Grant to Continue Presenting the Levitt AMP Berea Music Series through 2025
AUGUST 5: THE JESSE LEES
Louisville, Kentucky based outkasts, The Jesse Lees are a group of guys that provide a timeless and powerful energy with elements of psychedelic rock, soul, and hip-hop. It is just when you think that you have figured out their style that they show a new side of themselves, and scratch an itch you never knew you had. Led by the unique and powerfully soulful vocals of Otis Junior, this rock outfit is undeniable and unforgettable.

AUGUST 6: VOX SAMBOU
Vox Sambou is an MC, poet and multilingual performer who writes and performs in Creole, French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. He is a founding member of Montreal-based hip-hop collective, Nomadic Massive. His music focuses on the traditional rhythms of Haiti mixed with elements of afrobeat, jazz, reggae, and hip-hop, always committed to denouncing injustices and social imbalances.

AUGUST 12: JOSLYN & THE SWEET COMPRESSION
After cultivating her dynamic voice and performance skills in backup roles and stage plays, Joslyn Hampton teamed with her stepfather, Marty Charters(a touring guitarist and songwriter who has shared the stage with legends such as Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, and Van Morrison), to compose a captivating set of tunes and assemble an ace band. Joslyn & The Sweet Compression combine to deliver a hook-filled mix of funk and soul. A headlining favorite at regional clubs and music festivals, they are poised to engage fans across the country with widespread touring.

AUGUST 13: THE SOPHIA GOODMAN GROUP
Nashville, TN based drummer and composer, Sofia Goodman, leads a modern jazz ensemble that fuses American, Afro-Latin and Middle Eastern genres, The Sofia Goodman Group.. Sofia is a Zildjian artist and is on the Vic Firth Education Team, and is dedicated to passing down her craft to future generations, especially young women.

AUGUST 19: THE LOCAL HONEYS
For almost a decade, Linda Jean Stokley and Montana Hobbs, have been an integral part of the Kentucky musicscape. The narratives and landscapes they weave into song, the deep understanding and love they share for old time traditions, their undeniable charisma and charm, and their blatant disregard to follow the rules make it clear the duo is poised to become not only the defining voices of their home state of Kentucky but the defining voices of a new Appalachia.

Based out of Lexington, KY, Driftwood Gypsy is a sonic adventure rooted deep in the soul of jam funk fusion. Infectious grooves and charged up melodies reinforced by a contagious live performance fans like to call "dabstomp."

For fans of Elton John, Dolly Parton, and New Orleans’ Dr. John, Bee Taylor is an American singer-songwriter who leads an unusual life in order to capture her unique and real songs. She is best known for her get down grooves, her one-of-a-kind live show experiences, and her gut pulling lyrics.

AUGUST 27: CODY LEE MEECE & THE POOR EXCUSES
Cody Lee Meece is an award winning singer/songwriter from Somerset, Kentucky.. He has developed a deep earthy, intimate and very vulnerable writing style. Scars and tattoos tell his story of a life spent on the run in dark places, only to come out clean and wise.

Local Latino rhythms fronted by Venezuelan ex-patriot Enrique Gonzales. The Maracas delve into many branches of Latin and Tropical music, being particularly fond of the great Cuban traditions and Brazilian samba, but that's only the beginning.
